The announcement was made during the publisher’s first annual Roaring 20s event held last week to honor the state’s top 20 high-growth companies. For-profit companies headquartered in South Carolina were chosen and ranked according to growth and revenue. Company size was determined by gross revenue —small, $10 million and under; and large, more than $10 million.

SC Biz News said that this formula leveled the playing field between smaller and larger companies within both the small and large category. Points were awarded according to dollar and percentage increases in revenue generated from South Carolina operations from 2010 to 2011.
