Printing Inks for In-Mold Decoration (IMD)

Coloured injection-molded components featuring scratch and abrasion-proof designs have become part of our everyday life.

The In-Mold decoration process is the perfect solution for creating these visuals, but this complex technology demands an exceptional ink: one that combines maximum elasticity with high resistance to temperature extremes.

UV-curable Ink System for IMD - Technical Article

After extensive development work, Marabu now presents UltraMold UVPC, the first UV-curable ink system that offers a true alternative to the currently used solvent-based inks. The technical article "The IMD process using UV-curable screen printing inks" was written in cooperation with Niebling Formtechnologie and Bayer MaterialScience. It contains all necessary information for the successful use of UltraMold UVPC using the example of a IMD produced business card box.
